The Hutterite language, known as "Hutterisch," is a linguistic minority spoken by the Hutterite community residing in the prairie states of Canada and the US. The Hutterites, who share a historical connection with anabaptist groups like the Mennonites and the Amish, sought refuge in America to escape severe and brutal persecution during and after the reformation period, resulting in significant casualties. Presently, over 500 Hutterite colonies exist, where communal living is practiced alongside shared ownership of resources. Engaging in extensive farming activities, often supplemented by manufacturing enterprises, exemplifies their way of life.
